TUESDAY, MAY 4, 2021

With everything going on in the world I have a feeling more than a few of us will be fine adding an extra day to the regular trip. I have rooms booked starting on Tuesday for those that want to come in and get an extra round of golf on Wednesday morning. Our home for 2021 will be the ever-popular Eureka, aka “Where The Winners Play”. The Eureka has not seen our group’s shadows for many years, this will certainly be a blast from the past in 2021!

For those coming in early, we are going to be playing a nice, simple starter with The Canyons at The Oasis. We played this course once years back and I don’t remember it being anything special. But it makes sense as it is right around the corner from the hotel, and we get a price break by playing both courses at The Oasis during the trip. Sorry for those looking for Wolf Creek, but it was just not in the cards!

Thursday’s round will be a special one. Sand Hollow is consistently ranked as one of the top courses in Utah and it is a course I have never had the pleasure of playing. All reports I hear is that it lives up to every review. And of course the big bonus is we get to make that drive from Mesquite to St. George which I still consider to be the most spectacular drive of less than an hour in the United States!

FRIDAY, MAY 7, 2021

Friday’s round will be at a familiar track, The Palmer Course at The Oasis Golf Club in Mesquite. I have not played The Oasis since our last trip out there in 2010, so it will be cool to see what’s changed. Still home to some of the most amazing tee shots in all of Mesquite, the Palmer Course will be a big hit for those that haven’t seen it.

As in many of the early years of the Kauflin Invitational, our Saturday morning round will be at the wonderful Falcon Ridge. I vividly remember back in the day paying $40 for a Saturday morning at Falcon Ridge and thinking it was the best deal in all of golf. It costs a few more bucks to play these days, but it is still a terrific value and deserves to be known as the “poor man’s Wolf Creek”. A tremendous variety of holes, many that will linger with you for a while.

SUNDAY, MAY 9, 2021

No plans for Sunday except to find a good flight home and enjoy the memories of another great time with friends.
