2018 Year in Review
I have to admit that 2018 was somewhat of a bummer for me personally. I caught a flu bug during the trip that pretty much put me out of commission for more than half the trip. I gutted it out to hang out with the guys as much as I could, but it certainly was not the same.
Our change to staying in Henderson was a marginal success for the group. Many appreciated the elements that the Fiesta Henderson had to offer which attracted me to the joint in the first place. Cheap tables, good sportsbook, tons of food options on site, and an intimate setting where you could find the group very easily. The biggest hit was having all three of our golf courses within 15 minutes of the hotel, that was very nice. But a few found the lack of energy in the place a little bit of a downer. And then when the Stanley Cup Finals games were not aired on NBC, we couldn’t watch them as a group in the hospitality suite….MAJOR BUZZKILL!
Golf went very well. We ran into some high winds at Royal Links, but the course always provides a fun track for the Kauflin Invitational. The day I was in the hotel room sick all day was the day at The Revere. I was told we have never had better weather for a Vegas-KI round and the Mexican buffet after was a huge hit. I gutted it out and made it to Day 3 out at Boulder Creek. The guys enjoyed a new venue and the course treated us very well! Another great time with the guys, but after my illness I am already very much looking forward to 2019!
